The issue with Cuba and the U.S.

is much deeper. You can read what they say and take it as that or you can look at what the U.S. has done to Cuba and see the deeper issue. Why is Cuba going to send its team to something that is going to make the US buissness men richer? There was that whole embargo thing that helped push Cuba towards more intense poverty. My parents left Havana when Castro came into power. I am not a supporter of him, but this is more than just Cuba not wanting to send its players, the issue is much deeper than that.

I think the group that Cuba is in is scheduled to play games in Florida. What would stop every player on the team from just staying in the US?

Hmmm... my uncle has visa problems back in Korea, I imagine there are complications with visas. The US would likely make them sign away their rights to seek asylum... which the US might waive for like internationally renowned geniuses, but probably not for amateur ballplayers.
