Roster moves in low-A ball

It was inevitable - Vancouver's sensational rotation and bullpen is just far too hot right now to be allowed to remain in one piece for long, so few will be surprised that today the Oakland organization announced they're sending Mighty Joe Scott (2-0, 2.45) and Mike Mitchell (7 saves, 0.00) to Kane County, Illinois to play low-level A ball for the Cougars.

Scott, a 2004 non-draft free agent pick-up, and Mitchell, a 35th round selection in the 2003 draft, were likely chosen for promotion out of the pack of in-form Canadians players because they've been in the organization longer than most current Vancouver players and deserve their shot at moving up to the next level, but Oakland must be extremely happy that a pair of guys that few would have considered to be 'prospects' before this season started, have come on so strong that they warrant a spot at Kane County.

My question for you, since replacement in Vancouver have yet to be announced, is this: Does this mean Oakland is making room for a couple of draftee pitchers, or is this a ripple effect from the Chad Bradford sale?

Or is it just a case of "the guys upstairs are sucking, so you're going up in their place?"

Your thoughts are welcome.
