ERA

Looking through the entries, I see that I'm on record with the highest ERA prediction for our starters, 4.15, just barely edging out fadedash and robertmelvin who each guessed 4.10.

Interesting that absolutely no one here thinks that the starters are going to suck. Really, even 4.15 is decent for an ERA. That's essentially 4.15 runs for the opponents per game, which isn't so much to beat. When I made my guesses, I didn't consider it pessimistic at all.

Some of the guesses here are just crazy. All you who are making guesses in the low 2's are basically saying that all three of our guys are going to pitch better than the best starter in the league.

To take an example, if you predict a 2.00 ERA combined with 30 total runs and 15 A's LOB, then you're approximately predicting that the A's are going to average 13 hits per game.

Hey, I'll be as happy as anyone if the boys prove me wrong, but I think some people here are overdosing on the Kool-Aid.
