It might not be that bad...

I am not exactly happy with how the season has gone so far, but I am not exactly surprised by it either. Beane made deals which he felt would benefit the team over the next few years. He is trying to do this by locking up young talented players. He did the same thing with the likes of Hudson, Mulder etc.

I do not expect the younger players to come out and rack up big numbers at first. It is going to take them a while to adjust. They are professionals and they will probally only get better. We have some good players already in the majors and many more right around the corner.

I know we are 12 games back and last in about every category, but we don't have to give up on this team. I would much rather watch promising young players than some of the sorry players that were here in other "lean" years.

I guess all I am trying to say is...lets see how it all plays out. Maybe these young players might be the next big thing or they might be the next Damon Mashore or Doug Johns. Just don't give up on them just yet.

I'm still enjoying this season

despite my frequest frustration. Watching some of the young players flail and succeed has been rewarding overall, because I believe that some of them are going to be very good someday--Dan Haren in particular.

Frustration

For me the most frustrating this has been watching the veterans flail and fail. I expected the youngins to struggle, but what the vets have done was not to be expected, especially to the extent that they have.

Damon Mashore...hee hee hee

I knew his family when I was young...his uncle Lloyd was the pastor at my parents church in the 1980's- a real sleez bag too...I remember Damon played USA Ball and was supposed to be this big up and coming guy...
