Who will be the A's all-star?

After looking at the votes to date for the all-star game, it doesn't look like we will have anyone from the fan voting. Looking at the numbers we don't even have anyone listed in the top vote getters yet. Kinda sad, but it has been a very down year. Too bad Harden went down early, he'd probably have the most votes. What do you think?

As of now...
Street...but since no one is getting voted in, there's a lot of time before they will pick our all star, and anything can happen.

MARCO!
Based on tonight I'll give it to Scooter.  But in reality I'd have to say Huston will get it, there's always a handful of relievers selected and Street has been one of the best this year.

right now
SCOOTS!

but seriously, my votes:

  1. Huston
  2. The Duke
  3. Kotsay
who knows what will happen in the next few weeks, though. also depends what they need (I've heard they don't usually take many relievers?)

If chavez stays hot
It will be him.  He is the one with star power

I think it will be Chavez...
Cuz A Rod, Mora and Chavez just makes sense.  Blalock is right there too, but Texas will have other possible All Stars.....Rogers, Cordero, Teix, Soriano.

I think there are too many other relievers having great years (Ryan, Nathan, Cordero, etc) for Street to sneak in.

AL 3B is very weak overall..so I think Chavez slides in there....esp if he stays hot.

Bring back Hammer.

I wouldn't say the AL is weak at 3rd
The four players you just named are all great. If you want a example of a weak position, just look at the NL at shortstop, but I would hardly say AL at 3rd is weak.

Weak may have been the wrong word...
It's more of a lack of depth..After those 4, there is no one.

Hmm
I think Chavez has a shot simply because of name recognition (and because he's never been there before), but it should and probably will be Street.

Street
He's got the hype, and they need pitchers. Remember that a coule years ago, TB's lone all-star was Lance Carter...

Agreed--it has to be Street
In his short major league career he is showing that he can be a dominant closer.

Yea, but they look at stats...
He has 2 or 3 saves......What closer are they going to take him instead of....Some guys are havingt great years....Ryan, Nathan, Cordero, Guardado, Hermanson.....

I love Street and hes been awesome..just going to be hard to take him instead of any of those guys.

Bring back Hammer.

in the end
I think that he makes it over one of those guys because all teams are required to have a representative.

He hasn't had very many save opportunities either
And that ERA is just plain scary-good!
