It's been a few days, but RunRickeyRun been busy. RunRickeyRun went to Rickey's Bobblehead night on Saturday and the attendance was poor at best. RunRickeyRun think it makes the game that much more fun. RunRickeyRun got walk up, front row seats, right behind first, so RunRickeyRun could get good pics of Rickey leading off and such.
Anyways in Rickey's third at bat, he singled up the middle; thus, starting one of the funniest things RunRickeyRun ever see in a baseball game.
In the following at bat, the lefty pitcher threw over to first in an attempt to pick of Rickey at least 15 times(no exaggeration and it was actually probably more). Rickey was leading off and laughing at this por kid as he tried everything in his repertoire to get Rickey out. Rickey would get his full length lead, stand striaght up and put his hands on his hips. The pitcher thought that was his chance and tried to pick him off, but no dice. Then Rickey would get his full length lead and lean towards 2nd like he was stretching in that direction, again the pitcher tried to get him and couldn't. At this point it was probably the 11th or 12th attempt to get Rickey and the pitcher had only thrown 3 pitches. Then Rickey gets his lead again, full length, stands up straight, tilts the front of his helmet way up, smiles and puts his hands on his hips...again a throw, but not a chance.
Long story, long, Rickey looked like he was having so much fun. The first baseman was laughing at the situation, all the fans were laughing/booing. It was classic. It was the first time RunRickeyRun's girlfriend saw Rickey live and she thought it was the funniest thing she had ever seen at a bll game, RunRickeyRun has to agree. Just wanted to share with you all of you that Rickey is still fun to watch and until RunRickeyRun left in the 8th for a prior engagement, Rickey was 1 for 2 with a walk. His OBP for the season is still over .500. Gotta love Rickey. The bobblehead's don't arrive until August 5th, RunRickeyRun will be sure to post a pic.
