Pics from Atlanta and This time it works!!!!

Sorry about the mess up yesterday with the pictures.  I belive it is now working thanks to Melody for the quick lesson on how these fangled computers work! Thanks and I hope you enjoy as much as I did.

Being from Nashville, I was very happy when my A's came to a city close by.  I don't get to watch them in person as much as I would like.   I have to keep up with them through MLB extra innings.  Here are some of the pictures I had the chance to snap.

You local fans may be used to seeing them up close but I was a kid in a candy store....

It was neat to see the team in their workouts.  They are pretty funny.  Bobby Mac is about the only one who took it serious...

Harden and Huddy were together the whole series.  Huddy even showed Rich some different grips...

Alot of the guys took time to sign for the fans.  They would take their time and talk to everyone.  Kotsay and I even talked about the Miami Sound Machine for some reason.

My wife loves Byrnes so here he is...

and here again..

Harden is one of the nicest guys.  He signed for everyone in the stadium.

Next Picture diary when the Rivercats come to Nashville to play the Sounds.

Great pics
Great to see that Huddy continues to be a mentor for Rich!

I love them!
since I never get a chance to see these guys in person, pics and videos are the next best things...how tall is Hudson? In that one pic, it looks like he's taller than Rich. In any case, I love the pics!!! :D
Whatever it is, I didn't do it!

I was there.
My "stepmom" surprised me with tickets and I was in section 122. Due to being surprised and not knowing where I would be seated, I wasn't prepared...no camera, nothing to sign...but it was cool watching the guys during BP.

Huddy hung around the A's players the entire time.

Cute moment right in front of my section: Kotsay, Kielty, and Scooter hold a mini race. Kotsay and Scooter get quick jumps, and Kielty(slow turd) grabs Scoot by the back of his jersey, pulls him back...and just runs past him. Everyone was laughing, and the look on Scoot's face was adorable.

I love my stepmom.

Cute vignette!
Thanks for sharing that story, it must be a rare treat that few people ever get to witness. I'm guessing Kotsay still won the race though.

great moment...
Scoot had this look on his face. So cute!

And Kotsay definitely won :)

Turner Field(don't know if you know this) has a huge  hi-def screen in center. It's massive. Unbelievable. It made watching BP so much cooler than it's ever been. Amazing close-ups of everyone on the field. I went to the game on Saturday, also, and got to see Huston being a goof while he was on the other side of the park.

I was just about to reply
and ask for more details of Huston being a goof. but now it seems like all my posts revolve around him somehow. perhaps I've been brainwashed...

I'll tell you what I saw.
He was in right field with Kielty and was very animated. I don't know what he was talking about...but he ended up putting himself in a headlock and pretended to struggle. For a while. It looked stupid.

And it looked especially stupid on the big screen. Made me smile, though.

:P

LOL
boys are so retarded. :) have to love them.

he always seems to be laughing/smiling and having a good time out in the bullpen or in the dugout.

Closet attention whore!
Street tries to push all the glory away but I think he thrives on the attention :)

A picture of said screen can be seen in the background behind Byrnes that that one picture. It really is huge, and what's even better is that you can see Zito on the screen!

by Melody on Jun 14, 2005 10:35 PM PDT up reply actions

totally!
I think that's his secret, just pretending like he doesn't want attention.

HOLY CRAP! that is a HUGE screen!!! that would be so fun to watch batting practice and everything else on. jealous!

Aww...
Cute stories. I love reading about these guys, since I never have a chance to see them. I really wish they'd play the Rockies in interleague sometime...now that would be cool.

The next time I slap a guy's ass, can we all just assume it's because I wish I was a baseball player?

I wish I had taken a camera.
I would have taken a bunch of pics just for you :P

That's okay. <wipes away tear>
I'll get over it. :P It's not like I don't get to see them.

Pst! I'm thinking about setting up a tent in the lobby of the team hotel when they come to KC. That should be fun. I'll try to get some photos before I'm arrested.

Yay for pictures!
I'm glad that you got the photos to post this time. It's always great to see pictures, and even cooler to see pictures of other stadiums too! Aww Hudson, don't we wish he was still with us? I really like that picture of him and Harden.

If you don't mind me asking, how many autographs did you get total?

by Melody on Jun 14, 2005 9:57 PM PDT reply actions

Autographs
ZITO, HARDEN, BYRNES, KOTSAY, AND RINCON.  THEY WERE THE ONLY ONES THAT REALLY SIGNED.

damn, the a's should never have
traded huddy!!! huddy mentoring harden is awesome (although, they might've been talkin' about the chick with the big cans in the 3rd row).

Thank you so much for sharing the pictures and stories.
I love the picture of Huddy, Buckley, & Harden.  And the one of Huddy & Harden is great too!

I look forward to some Rivercats pictures when they come out your way.  I hope that you will share those as well.

Thanks again.
