Juan DL Gone

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2072612

Boy, I'm sure glad we didn't pick this guy up.  In the offseason I thought it might be a good move, little (financial) risk, (possible) high reward.  He would have been worse than the Karros signing.  It must be embarassing for him; first at-bat in over a year after being on the DL with hamstring injuries the time between and the same injury on your first at-bat back.  Is anyone else that advocated signing him breathing a sigh of relief that we're not paying a guy a million bucks to play a few rehab games?  You gotta feel bad for the guy, he's like Giambi in that he was one of the best players in the game for a few years and now he's got absolutely nothing left.

Yeah
His injury sounds less serious than Gonzo's though.

Juan Gone =
A Big Bitch.  The fact that he collects a paycheck EVER makes me sick to my stomach.  There is NO ONE softer than this dude.

Sounds like a sweet gig to me...
play 2 games a year and collect millions of dollars for your "efforts."  I'd take that any day!

It is not exactly that easy
Professional athletes are some of the hardest workers around. I would love to see you go through Juan Gone's workouts and his rehab, and tell me that you think its easy. I don't like to see people question his effort, when actually it is more just terrible luck that he keeps getting injured.

This is true for 99% of guys...
I totally agree.....I could never go thru what guys go thru to get ready and rehab.

Juan Gone is not one of these..he is a big baby and lets injuries that would keep people out 2 weeks keep him out for 3 months.  He is a big whiny biatch.

I'll admit it, I was desperate for a big bat
and was advocating that we sign him this yr. I'm glad I'm not the GM and glad BB didn't bite. I was hoping for another John Jaha. He surprised us with  30+ HR's one yr.
The thing I hate most about San Francisco besides the Giants is their f'd up politics.

Joke on a Rope
If anyone remembers, it was ESPN that was predicting we'd sign Juan Gone. I think they had us down for Jeff Kent also.
