Open Thread: Game 50 - A's vs. Devil Rays
The A's and Not-So-Smokin' Lately Joe Blanton with a 0-5 record and a 6.55 ERA go against the Devil Rays and Scott Kazmir with a 2-4 record and a 4.13 ERA.
The big news of the day is that Bobby Crosby is finally off the DL today. Keith "Hazy Shade of" Ginter was optioned to Sacramento.
It will take some time for Crosby to catch up to major league pitching, but at least they get some right-handed pop back in the lineup.
The A's go with this lineup tonight (one much closer to what the front office envisioned when they put this team together):
Kendall
Kotsay
Kielty
Chavez
Byrnes
Johnson
Crosby
Swisher
Ellis
The Rays counter with this group:
Crawford
Lugo
Huff
Lee
Phelps
Cantu
Hollins
Hall
Green
Blanton got detroyed by these same Rays in a 1/3 of an inning last time out. Let's hope he's recovered somewhat since then.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!!!!!!!
