Marty Lurie had a horrible interview yesterday. He kept on repeating the same phrase over and over, it was "It's such a joy to interview a baseball great like you." I think he was trying to steer the interview and the interviewee wasn't buying it.

I know his defense is suspect

But so was Chavvy's and i doubt ellis and scoot's was as good as it is now. We have Wash, he makes infielders better. He has a track record. I personally hink ellis should get less pt. I like him and all, but if i was pitching and ellis came up with the bases loaded and 2 outs. It would not strike too much fear into me.

Yes bad swing

I think he has a shoulder problem... The way he's throwing (I know he can't throw anyway, but he's pushing the ball more this year) and his swing is pretty much one armed.... this is one of those things that I know about first hand... calcium deposits that required a couple of shots.

Anyways, I just caught the final seconds of it and Mychael Urban was on this week, talking about the book Aces, and the A's among other things, I assume.

i realize it's the 5 millionth time i've said this (in the last week alone) but HOW any human being can claim he's a GOOD player is beyond me.

his defense is horrendous, and that does NOT change even when he makes an amazing diving catch because many times he's made that ill-advised dive (in FAIR territory) and hurt the team.

he cannot for the life of him hit righties OR, i would argue, lefties with good off-speed pitches.
