Sorry for the delay in getting this posted. I know it's old news, but there's lots of purty pictures...
Got to SBC Park around 5:30pm. It was surprisingly easy to get there considering you have to take BART and MUNI. And she is a beauty. Standing outside the ballpark, I couldn't help but salivate like Homer Simpson ("Mmmmmm...new ballpark smell"). Oh wait, I do that on the way to the Mac too ("Mmmmmmm...Hegenberger").
On my way to my seat about 25 rows up from Chavy's corner, I stopped by the A's pen to snap some pictures.
Danny Haren was on the mound, warming up for his start on Saturday. If he had pitched Friday instead, he would have notched a W.
There was a lot of signing going on down on the field. Weird that the A's sign a lot more at away games than at home games.
Dotel, fresh from his short vacation to SoCal, showed off the nasty smoking habit he picked up from Yabu. Alright Dotel, but once you're off the DL, you're going on the Patch!
Okay, so this guy was "fishing" for balls off the side of the RF wall with a cup tied to a string. It was so pathetic that eventually one of the guys just picked up the ball and tossed it to him.
And surprise! Who should come to the party, but Bobby C. He signed quite a few autographs and hung out for a while near the wall. He's our man!
In this disturbing scene captured on film, a huge wharf rat came out of nowhere and viciously mooned our beloved LF Bleachers crew. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
Bazooka Joe Blanton took his first in-game at bat since high school. Now we know why he plays for an American League team.
After Bazooka Joe threw out his mojo in the 4th (and 5th), Yabu came in and held down the fort in time for the offense to kick in.
The sun sets on another wicked thrashing of the Giants at the hands of the superior team.
