Vlad Injured?

On BBT, they showed Vlad sliding headfirst into home- then staying down injured.  They stated he left the game with a injured shoulder- possibly seperated, but this link just says jammed:

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2065126

He was out at the plate, to add insult to injury.  Apparently he will have X-rays- it's hard to say at this point how long he'll be out, but if it's a while, this could be a break the A's could use to get back into things.  Guerrero isn't the whole Orange County Angels, but losing the reigning MVP won't be any picnic for them.  Assuming the A's offense continues to come around, a good run is a definite possibility.

Yes, but
there's this little team in Texas that came into town a few weeks back and kicked our butts.

I'd have to make them the divisional favorites if Vlad is out for any length of time-- like a month or more.

anderson hammy?
isn't he out with a hamstring issue as well? 2/3rds of their killer outfield down?

yeah
another injury and they might be forced to remove Tim Salmon from the 60-month DL.  Or maybe scout out Rickey down in San Diego.

while any little thing helps
the A's is great, I hate seeing vlad go down. He is the one Angel that I like and used to love watching when I'd go up to Monteal. But maybe this will level the field as half of our team is also on the dl

i hate the angels
but i love vlad. he deserves to be on a contender after giving so many good years to the expos, even if it's on the angels.

I was at the game
Unfortunately I was getting a Dodger Dog while that play happened. I saw it on TV, though. It didn't look too serious... certainly not as bad at Swisher's encounter with the RF wall or Jeter's injury two years ago. You never know with the shoulder, but I doubt they'll have him out for more than a  week.

Dislocation
This is from the Angels' web site (the game wrap).  It is described as a "partial dislocation" so it does not seem that serious.  Remember last year Harden dislocated his non-pitching shoulder twice and returned fairly quickly after it was popped in.  I'm no doctor but it sounds like he'll miss action from 1 - 15 days.
-----------------------------

Guerrero had X-rays taken at Dodger Stadium that revealed a subluxation, or partial dislocation, of his left shoulder. He received treatment in the trainer's room and will be re-evaluated Saturday by team doctor Lewis Yocum.

"We're going to know more tomorrow; we'll have more tests," manager Mike Scioscia said. "Hopefully everything comes back clean. Right now his shoulder is in place, but it is a little stiff."

But Harden didnt have to swing a bat with it....
Gotta be a pretty big difference.

I did the same thing with my shoulder (The first time of 3 of course)....I have a hard time seeing him play in less than 2 weeks if he did partially dislocate it.

Bring back Hammer.

True
Not to wish harm on anyone, but when I saw the play live (during an A's commercial) I immediately yelled out "I hope he's hurt and goes on the DL."  For the A's sake I hope you're right.  I guess I'll root for anything that can help our A's.

Yea, already on the DL...
No way to do that and be less than 2 weeks.....and thats a minimum.
Bring back Hammer.

This is where
his hard swing could cause him problems. Sounds like a routine 15-day DL and return to lineup. The question is whether the injury might recur...
