Is there a Moneyball stat for hitting with runners on?

Stay connected for news and updates

So Billy Beane has conquered the concept of on-base percentage.  The A's get on base.  (Although if you look at the stats, they are still towards the bottom of OBP...but that's for a different diary on a different day)

The major problem is that they seem to have an aversion to getting hits, but they get on base.

It would be one thing if the A's at-bats were 1-2-3 innings, then I could understand their struggles.  But, the frustrating part is they are getting baserunners!!!   The problem is that once they get on base, there are WAY TOO MANY cases of not being able to get them home.

If only there was a computer stat that could show someone's ability to "nut up" instead of fouling out to third!!
