As a transplanted A's fan, I live by my MLB.tv to get my A's fix. Watching the Chicago White Sox announcers, I have never been so irritated by announcers before! I always hear about people complaining about what a homer Ray Fosse can be, but the White Sox's announcers are ridiculous! Even my friend, who is used to the bias of the Yankees announcers (he's a Red Sox fan) agreed that it was obscenely over the top.
It is one thing to refer to players by their nicknames, and to occasionally show that you are rooting for the home team, but my god! Even arguing against umpire calls when they go against the home team, I can tolerate (even if I don't like it.) But to yell at a ball hit down the third base line to "stay fair! stay fair!" or yelling at someone to "catch that!" just detracts so much from the baseball experience. If Ray Fosse did that with the A's, even as an A's fan, I'd go crazy! Are all midwest baseball announcers like this, or is this just the White Sox?
