Out of market A's fans

Hi! I'm a newbie to this site and I wanted to start by introducing myself.  I go to school at Purdue University in Indiana, but I was born and raised in San Jose (and even though Selig thinks I should root for the Giants, I've never been anything but a fan of the green and gold).
I subscribe to MLB.com and am a faithful viewer of all A's games, which means that I've had the pleasure to listen to broadcasts from other teams.  My question for all of you other out of market A's fans is two fold: 1. Do is it ever get easier to listen to the commentary of rival teams sports announcers? and 2. Do you think that watching the broadcasts/listening to the announcers for the opposing team has sharpened your own anaylsis of our  own A's?
