I know this has been discussed before a bit, but especially tonight his fastball is topping out at 85. I dont see how he can be successful when his change up is at 80 and his fastball is only 84-85. Is he losing velocity because of his new pitches and arm angles? Does anyone have any insight they would like to share? I am kind of confused about this. He isnt smart or fine enough to get by like moyer with an 84 mph heater. [update] He got the fastball up to 88 a few pitches but it wasnt consistant. Of course macha wait for him to give up 4 runs before he takes him out. He was over 100 pitches already. Well if anyone can give me what they are observing i would apriciate it. I dont quite understand zito and his 84 mph fastballs down the middle of the plate. Its not like 89 is a whole lot better, but i think its more effective when the curve is at 69.
