Article on A's prospect Richie Robnett
The Visalia Times Delta had a story in today's sports section about former local prep star (and 2004 A's first round draft pick) coming back to the park he played his high school games in. Puff-piece article, but interesting if you are an A's prospect hound.
here is the article
and a quote:
I've had a lot of bad luck with some well-hit balls.
They told me, as long as I'm hitting the ball well, you can't worry about what the numbers are," Robnett said. "I was kind of anxious at first, but I'm starting to slow down, and trying to take it one day at a time."

I like the part about discount beer guy
Chavy as "beer batter"
It would help ease the pain ...

the Beer Batter is great
Anyway, when he struck out in the 3rd inning, at least 100 of the 750 paying customers went rushing to the beer vendor. There is a limit of 2 beers per person, and not one soul ordered fewer than two. It is hilarious, and about the only thing keeping fans aware of the opposing team's batting order (when does #7 bat? He's the beer batter right?).
By the Way, I won the tire roll and scored four free tickets... gotta love minor league ball.
awesome
But definitely for AN Day 2, we have to pick some opposing shlub as the beer batter and buy ourselves a round if he strikes out.
