My Appreciation of Blez

I just returned from a week long trip to Death Valley. As most of you would guess, it is a low-tech kind of place; no cell-phone reception, no television, barely even any running-water--so, obviously, no internet. I spent the week hiking up bone-dry canyons and watching my girlfriend try to identify pin-head sized wildflowers that, honestly, did not interest me in the least. The things we do for love, right? But, none of you care about any of this, so I'll get to the point.

When I got home tonight I flipped onto the computer and went to the first website I always visit, AN. I figured I would see who won the 5th starter spot, if Scutaro made the team, if Street made the team, yadda yadda. When I saw what Blez had done, I was completely floored. I don't mean to kiss ass, but the level of content that he has brought to this website is stunning. I hope every one who frequents AN realizes that Blez gives us a window through which to view our favorite team that is unprecedented. No other group of baseball fans is this lucky, and I for one would like to thank the guy that made it possible.

So, a toast to AN, from it's humble beginnings to its meteoric rise to being the best baseball site on the internet, and to Blez.

Toast to Blez

Without blez i would still be checking 23 sites a day. A toast should also go out to all the people that come here daily and make this site what it is today and helping with what it will become tommorrow(with blez's help of course). The people here are friendly, knowledgeable, and A's fans, which is why its such a joy to come here everyday. Hands down just one of the best baseball sites on the net, period.

I just finished watching the Kids Choice awards (Johnny Depp got slimed... hotness!). We should totally have like the AN awards. Different categories with everyone here nominating people for categories and then voting. Just an idea. ;)

Something I forgot to mention

We should also toast the A's organization; A big part of the reason this site is so cool is that we root for a team composed of cool ballplayers, down-to-earth guys who will give a blogger an interview, not to mention the coolest GM in the history of pro-sports, who hooked Blez up with the press-passes so he could do this.

I like...

I like the idea of a pictures section and a member section. Blez had great pictures and so did K... but it would be nice to have others add pics. of A's away games or of minor league games they attend.

A members section would be nice to exchange info. that may or may not be be baseball related.

This is a twice+ a day stop for me and I am very pleased with it the way it is now. Thanks Blez for all that you do. Your articles from Spring Training were fantastic. Don't for the book about AN...

Mucho thanks to Blez and others.

This is a great site and I never even knew what I was missing about the Athletics online. I just had BA with my subscription and thus got game wrapups and stats updated daily. Thanks Athletics Nation. And I have been a fan for 50 years of the old KC A's.
