This diary is somewhat in response to the Kotsay diary posted by our fearless leader. As an Athletics/Pirates fan all my life, I feel uniquely qualified to reflect on the qualities of our new catcher.  Well, that's bullshit, I just have known about and followed him for a long time.  Heck, I remember his dad quite well, and I yell "c'mon Freddie!" for Jason just so he knows someone out there remembers his dad (yeah, people in my section think I've got no clue).

But the point of this is, has Kendall not turned out to be as good as billed?  I think the combination of his veteran handling of our young staff and his timely hitting is confirming what a brilliant trade it was to acquire him.

Let's give some love up here for Jason!
