In their middle 50% rankings, the A's boast a remarkably consistent rotation, with Barry Zito posting the best era - 4.37, while Keiichi Yabu takes up the rear at 4.62. Dotel bounces back and is excellent in relief, Kalero is a stud, Bradford is strong, but Cruz, Duke, and Rincon disappoint. Thanks to across the board strong performances, the A's lead the league, allowing 747 runs.

For the Halos, Escobar remains strong and posts a 4.06, while Colon bounces back somewhat to a 4.49. The rest of the rotation is in the high 4's. The 'pen is strong across the board, led by an excellent Franky Rodriguez and Brendan Donelly. They allow a strong 758 runs.

Check out the offense, though:

At every spot except the corner outfield positions, the A's beat the Angels, most of them by considerable amounts. The A's outscore the Angels 854 to 808.

PECOTA also shows the A's having a lot more upside, across the board when comparing 50th percentile score to 75th percentile scores.

It's looking mighty fine.
