As an A's fan and a paying customer of major league baseball, I demand that ballplayers play clean.

  Likewise the A's have no business being implicated as being responsible for steroid abuse. Jose should receive amnesty as it would be highly hypocritical for Congress to single him out. I've appreciated Jeff Kent's comments that MLB and the MLBPA have not gone far enough to also test for human growth hormone and amhetamines. I guarantee that those who are inclined to cheat will continue to take advantage of this until MLB et al. gets it right.

Or is it a terrifying day when we look to Jose Canseco and Jeff Kent for perspective and guidance?
