On Canseco
"When Jose was first playing in the minors, he was a young kid - not weighing very much and skinny in stature. In the low minors he hit few home runs and struck out a lot."

"I proposed the question to him about what he was doing to increase his size and strength. He replied that he was lifting weights eight hours a day. I balked at this and asked him again how he was doing it and he replied that he was taking steroids."

On McGuire

"I believe he innocently took over-the-counter stuff just to enhance his strength and his weightlifting program. Mac is not the type to try and cheat the game of baseball. He is a man of dignity and honor."

Oh but Jose said so

Seems theres still alot of people who believe based on what Jose says and that McGwire got bigger, so he must of used. Now there is a shady source saying he sold Mac some steroids, even Cansecos camp said they don't remember the guy. So lets believe him too while we are at it. All I need, and I think others too..is one credible source to speak up and say yes he used I know how because I saw/spoke to him about it. If he did use, surely there are players/coaches and more people who know. IMO at least one person would step forward after all this scrutiny about it and say he did, if in fact he did. No doubt Mac used supplements, but anabolic steroids such as what Canseco admits to using? I still have doubts. Not saying I would be shocked if he did, but I need more proof. Sad thing is what if he didn't use? His name is being slung around in the mud so much already, its quite sad. All I know is that I'm ready for the 2005 season to start and stop the steroid madness.

I know its hard Wisco

I know it hurts and is difficult to hear that both of the Bash Brothers were juiced. McGwire was a hero to us all. Your'e right, there is no definitive proof yet that McGwire used roids.

But if I was a betting man...

You also said that "at least one person would step forward after all this scrutiny about it and say he did, if in fact he did". This is wrong. This is a hot button issue right now that goes all the way up to the FBI and the President. No one would touch this issue with a 10ft pole if they didn't have to.

Not so much hurt

If I was still a kid it might be closer to that, but not really now. If he used he used, but innocent until proven guilty is an important rule in this country.

Its a very hot button issue, this is why I think someone would step up now, not after its died down(whenever that will be). As far as involving the government and FBI, I don't think its that serious. Some politicians love getting their hands on a hot topic and get involved, wasting public time and money such as these hearings. Its important yes, but this important? Not IMO.
