A's talk on KNBR now (9PM)

the promo is Susan Schlesser(sp?)at the top of the hour and then Barry Zito at the bottom of the hour.

no idea if it will be interesting or not

Okay, I guess I'm supposed to do three hundred words or so minimum in order to make this an acceptable diary entry.

So, I'll type as quickly as I can in order to be able to post this ASAP. This'll be another in the series of Hot Stove League shows where the offseason exploits will be discussed.

No word on whether Zito will be asked about his break-up with Alyssa Milano, though he certainly will be asked about being the remaining big dog in the A's rotation.

And they'll certainly start riffing on the Canseco stuff too. So it's on now. Come listen, I hope my diary has made the needed word minimum.

I want an hour of my life back

I turned on the radio to listen to it, even called in, but the way that last hour was promoted I was excited...

I was really let down by the type of questions and depth from Urban with Susan and Barry. It was like the exact same thing that Krueger did with Susan so it was pretty boring.

One great answer from Z

Urban's question, paraphrasing, "What is the biggest negative about this off-season, including the departures of Mark and Huddy?

Answer: "Don't really know yet about Mark and Huddy since I haven't yet experienced baseball without them, but there is no real negatives about this offseason. As I see it Mark, Huddy and I now will now each get a chance to do our own thing, just not together."

Another telling comment was that he was happy that Byrnes got through his Arbitration Year, without having to go to arbitration. According to Urban and Z, Byrnes is the last, best friend of Zito on the team.

Things are looking up for Byrnesie

D-backs signed Cruz Jr. so that's one down (and, I think Beane's main target). So, I'm cautiously optimistic that Byrnes starts in LF for the A's this year.
