Season Tickets have arrived!!

My friendly FedEx guy just delivered my A's Season Tickets.  Got all of the 20 Fielder's Choice tickets I asked for with 18 of the 20 games in my favorite seat: Section 126, Row 1, Seat 6.  Right at the A's bull pen mound.  The seat lacks leg room and I am forever hitting my knees when I jump up, and there is no cup holder, but the view is fantastic.

Season Tickets have a new format this year with various games, info, humorous things on the ticket in lieu of a big photo of an A's player.  The "A's 2005 Season Ticket Holder" pen is also very nice.  I always request all the games with the Giants, Yankees, and Red Sox, and Opening Night, (this year that amounts to 13 of the 20 games). and then fill in with other games plus a few inter-league games: this year I have tickets to one Met game and one with the Phillies.

God, my wife is going to kill me this year, as from Friday May 13th through Wed May 18th I will be going to 6 straight games (3 w/NYY and 3 w/BoSx).

I am semi-retired, so do not work full time, but was wondering how other season ticket holders decide which games to see and where they will be sitting.

I gotta get back to work, man...
I'm considering season tix but decided to hold off b/c the tickets are so easy to come by. So, I'm going to wait until the first few wks in the season to make a decision on a 20 gm package. And another thing, I'm on a budget, so this will factor in on my decision. Nonetheless, I'm still very excited about the season and this will be the yr that I go to the most games ever. And most definitely will try to attend a few gms in Seattle and Anaheim too.

how to choose
Because you can change dates so easily, I always start by picking all the games you CAN'T change into (NYY, Sox, SF, fireworks) knowing that I can just change them later if I don't want to go those days.  Then I try and throw in one or two on each homestand. Then later I just move them all around to get giveaway days that look good, etc. We always sit in section 116.  Then I also put in an order for two tickets to each $2 Wednesday in section 316.  If I get to either section and someone irritating is sitting next to me, I just move to an open area.

same philosphy
fireworks, red sox/nyy, giants.  then i try to see each team at least once, and al west teams a few more times.  giveaways are nice, but i picked my tickets before they released the schedule.  i actually try to avoid wednesdays, because those are when i get the dollar seats with my buddies and we sit in the 300s drinking beer and eating hot dogs. and yeah, i like section 119.

I guess I'll be getting mine soon, too
I can't wait!

BTW, kudos to A's ticket services: I've found them to be very accomodating.

Friday the 13th!!!!
I think I'm going to that game! It's Barry Zito's birthday... his 27th. :) I need to go cheer on my honey during his birthday (even if he isn't pitching.....)

Lucky, Lucky. My parents say I can get season tix when I can pay for them myself. It should be in about two years. Also, they said they would buy them but driving me and staying is too much of a hassle (with 3 younger sisters, I bet it would be!) So... That sucks for me. I plan on having season tickets for the rest of my existence after I can pay for them.

God, I love Barry Zito and my Oaklnad A's.
