A's Buyer is eager to discuss new park
Good article on page B5 of this morning's Chronicle about a Wolff visit to the East Bay. Includes some promising words by Wolff on Billy and the front office: " We're lucky enough to be inheriting one of the best-run teams in baseball - and in all of major-league sports".
Need help from Blez or another ANer to provide the link.

New Stadium
JLS is the way to go ...
They are talking about a new lightrail line running from the BART Stations, over to JLS, or, possibly, a BART mini line from 12th St to JLS and Alameda, so transportation issues could improve in the short term. It's also far enough away from DT that it can help to spread the quality urban development happening over there into the rest of the city.
There are huge financial (largely environmental) questions about the site, though.
I don't know what issues are involved with it, but the area at and to the west of the Army base is nice too and close enough to BART that a shuttle or infill station wouldn't be out of the question.
That's the problem w/ San Jose

What's that supposed to mean?
Not only are there 5 methods of public transportation to the proposed site, there are two highways. Infrastructure is not an issue... especially for an area that is going to hold a Grand Prix race in said area's streets.

There is no simple way
I don't see the point
And the same issues that effect BART are prevelant in all mass transit situations; It is not an exclusive issue. However, there are more choices in getting to downtown San Jose then there are to the current and prospective A's site.

No there aren't
not exactly correct

Not only is there those three freeways, but there is Amtrak, ACE, Caltrain, and the VTA to connect to the proposed area.
That's compared to 880, BART, AC Transit, and in the future, Amtrak.
