We all complain about KNBR. We complain that the radio hosts are pretty bad, the interviews are terrible, and unless Michael Urban is on, the A's will not be even mentioned, except in joke form. Hell, even with Urban on today, we've only heard about the A's about a few times at most. Two Callers or so, and Barry Zito's singing, which was half way between amusing and ear bleeding.
So here is the simple solution. Instead of complaining about KNBR all the time, why don't we just take things into our own hands. Here we are, on a medium that is trying to get away from what we perceive is the declining print journalism (IE: New York Post). So why do we continue to complain about the horrible mainstream radio?
So it hit me. If we think we can do a better job ourselves, why don't we do just that, do a better job ourselves. Or at the very least, lets have something that talks about the A's!
So I propose this, an AN Podcast or other Streaming Media radio. Set it up, make shows, talk about the issues, and hell, maybe even have our own After the Game show during the season (since MLB would kill us if we did a broadcast of the game). We can do better then Buan right?
We can have the Fire Macha show, the Prospect Report, Trading Post, and regular baseball talk.
And if that doesn't work or doesn't have enough info or time, then why not a MLB wide SportsBlog Podcast Radio.
Basically, KNBR sucks. MLB Radio is comical half the time, and nonsense the other half. What have we got to lose?
