AN making comeback in Weblog Award
Keep it up, ANers!
In a surprise development, Athletics Nation is staging a stunning comeback in the Weblog Awards. Blue-Gray Sky is still leading, but not for long. The "mid-market baseball blog" will pull out the victory!
Keep voting as often as you can from as many computers as you have available. Voting ends on December 15th, so vote, vote, vote!!!

I'm not surprised
Everyone knows I'm an A's fanatic. Got many replies saying they all voted. I also voted several times in my school library. You know I'm a fool to do this during FINALS week.
the gap between silver and bronze...
also
Oh, and congrats on little Galt, foolsh. The checklist was awesome and should inspire any parents who aren't on Texas' top 10 deadbeat dad list (see the Troy Neel comments of the latest wishful thinking trade diary). You should still consider Roark for little bro, if that's in the cards. In the meantime, your firstborn is beautiful.
it was deleted for a good reason

then why care?

way to hit it on the head....
It would be funny
I am not an A's fan
I don't post often, because I feel a little out of place cross-posting, but out of respect for AN, the A's, Billy Beane and also because I get so damn sick of Notre Dame, I went and voted for AN.
The question needs to be asked: should a blog about football-- a game so ultimately and fundamentally inferior to baseball, a game with so little charm, so little rhythm, so little beauty, a game so devoid of analysis beyond wondering which team will stay injury-free longer than the others, a game so protean, onanistic, and puerile that its fans appear half naked at games in subzero temperatures with crude lettering painted on their chests-- actually be considered for some kind of an award?
I think not. Good luck with the contest.
What is with this blog
well technically you've used that word
what's with YOU
wait, i probably don't want to know the answer to that....

Some blogs (inlcluding AN and BG-S)
I wasn't around much yesterday, but I guess I missed a lot. Not that I wanted to know how to cheat. I did remember to vote, though.
GO AN!
I vote for us voting fair and square
It's not just that
What's that? Ah, crap.
except that AsGirl is not correct
And we have more eyeballs coming to this site by far than they do, EXCEPT on some weekends (duh), so we should win a popularity/fanaticism contest even during our low time and their peak.
and yes, the whole thing is just a lark
Seriously?
And I wasn't even drunk. :-/
my take
When I was in High School
I took this psychology class. It was a free A type of class, not really about psych at all...
In this class, every semester, was the cheating test. You were supposed to cheat, in fact the test was nigh impossible without cheating.
We were given long columns of numbers, that was it. You had something like 15 or 20 minutes to reproduce the entire list of numbers on your sheet of paper. Trust me, you couldn't memorize the thing, you had to find some way to see or hear the answers. You also had to reproduce the list perfectly, no mistakes.
The teacher would prowl the aisles trying to bust us, we all had feints and ruses. It was very difficult to do it though, maybe four people succeeded.
One of the best solutions someone in my class came up with was to take a polaroid of the numbers, and then replace another photo that was on the wall with that one of the answers. No one noticed at all.
Point being, many years later I can remember all the things I thought of to beat that test, the creative juices and the thrill of it all.
'Getting away with things' must be an under-capitalized field of investigation in education and motivation.
How did nobody notice
