[EDITOR'S NOTE: This is a post from the guy who produces the AN tees. He's concerned about the inverse image and rightfully so. Bill King just doesn't look like Bill King when you change it from how it was originally intended. - Blez]
Howdy folks...okay, been reading the comments from over here at the Tshirt printing plant (we make the AN shirts), and want to post this in response:
The 2 faces of Bill King. The image was created as a "positive" so when we invert it, and use a gold ink on green, he turns evil and it doesn't look much like him. So we probably need to keep it as a positive image, meaning DARK INK/LIGHT SHIRT. Don't get thrown off by the shades of yellow and green shown in the mockup, as the company that makes these blanks didn't have an image of the yellow and green that I could use, so these are approximate. However, I do know that the colors are EXACTLY the throwback colors of the Swingin' A's days, so if you like the shades of yellow/green from days of old (70's, not that old for some of us), you'll like these. I haven't seen anyone look jaundiced in a yellow shirt yet.
Here's another type of shirt as well:
this is an American Apparel "melange green" tee. Since we can't put this on a dark tee, is this a good compromise?
Or should we just do a white tee shirt version and the vintage ringer as the 2 versions? Possibly a long sleeve version too.
We're thinking that we'll get the choices down to a couple versions, then you can ring in on what you'll order in a new diary that we'll post. We'll make enough to cover those stated in the diary, and make those, but after that, we'll probably just offer one version based on which version of the shirt sells best. Keep in mind that the vintage ringer is gonna be a few bucks more than a white shirt, the melange green will be priced somewhere between the ringer and the white.
Lastly, if y'all think that you prefer the "evil bill" reversed image on dark green, than we'll print that. I just don't think it's all that flattering. Okay, hope that makes sense...
