blanton had a RoY season aside from one bad month early on. he should have been at least top five in the voting.
swisher was a typical inconsistent rookie, up and down all year. those unfamiliar with the a's rookies must hve been impressed by the numbers (HRs, RBIs).

I would have put Swish above Blanton,
I think some people just looked at Joe's W-L and that jaded them against him. I think the low run support really hurt Cupcakes. Let's just hope he gets the Cy Young next year and that will make up for it!
But really, I do think that Swish deserved to be in the top there. I am glad he was so high.
