Fantasy trade proposal # 1: Moneyball GM's unite!

Rungood put 2 and 2 together with Javy Vazquez requesting a trade and wondered aloud if the A's could work there way into a three way trade. I have a series of fantasy trade type proposals (of which i made my name with last november) i've had in my head, but i figured i'd run this one buy first. My ideas have virtually 0 percent chance of happening, but it's fun for me coming up with things like this.

Some background

Vazquez- Requested a trade to the East Coast

Jays- Need a frontline starter to compliment Halladay. They are upping payroll 20 million. Mcgowan would be expendable as they have David Purcey coming up in 07 and Brandon League, as well as Halladay, Chacin, and Dave Bush.

Vernon Wells-Has been rumored in trade proposals. This shows that they would be at least willing to talk about giving him up depending who they get.

A's-Need power bats

D'Backs-Trying to create room for Tracy while shedding payroll. Glaus available. Looking for pitching

A's recieve: Glaus, Wells

Jays Recieve: Vazquez, Duke, Conor Jackson

D'Backs recieve: Sarloos, Jairo, Dustin Mcgowan/Brandon League, Orlando Hudson, Kurt Suzuki, Guillermo Quiroz, Richie Robnett/Ethier

I put Robnett/Ethier and McGowan/League because the latter names in those two are better then the former, and the D'Backs might want them instead.

A's additions- Glaus, Wells
A's subtractions- Sarloos, Jairo, Duke, Suzuki, Robnett

This looks fair enough to me. Considering the money on Glaus' contract as well as the fact that D'Backs want to get rid of him, his value comes down a little bit. Wells is at great value though. Think of it as Sarloos, Jairo and Suzuki = Glaus, and Duke + Robnett= Wells. Duke and Robnett doesn't equal Wells exactly of course, but Jays are getting pieces from D'Backs as well.

Jays additions-Javy Vazquez, Conor Jackson, Justin Duchscherer

Jays subtractions- Vernon Wells, Orlando Hudson, Dustin Mcgowan, Guillermo Quiroz

Wells = Jackson + Duke
Vazquez = Mcgowan, Hudson, Quiroz

The Jays would love this i'm sure. Conor Jackson locked up for 6 years. Vazquez to bring some luster into the rotation. Duke shoring up the bullpen. After this, they can sign Benji Molina or Ramon for the catcher spot and become a real force in the East. The only question would be who is playing center. They could fill this with Reed Johnson, or in free agency with someone like Preston Wilson or put John Ford Griffin (he plays center right?)

AZ additions-Sarloos, Jairo, Dustin Mcgowan, Orlando Hudson, Kurt Suzuki, Guillermo Quiroz, Richie Robnett

AZ subtractions- Glaus, Vazquez, Conor Jackson

Glaus = Sarloos, Jairo, Suzuki
Vazquez = McGowan, Orlando Hudson, Quiroz
Conor Jackson does not equal Robnett

But, AZ must take less because of the contracts and money that they are shedding.

AZ likes the addition of Sarloos. Jairo gives them a dynamic optioni at the back end of the pen', albeit risky. Hudson shores up their defense, and he's only 26. He's very good. Quiroz gives them a young catcher, and SUzuki gives them a second option. McGowan gives them a young starter with a decent ceiling (3-4 starter. It's very possible that AZ might want a better SP prospect, such as Brandon League, or even David Bush). Robnett gives them a high ceiling center fielder of the future. Though it's also possible they want Ethier and not Robnett.

I won't post stats for every single player because that would make it way too long. Check out the cube though.
