"We've had a lot of complaints about the service up there and we're trying to do some things to make the fan experience better,'' said David Alioto, the A's vice president of sales and marketing. "There are about 120 (season-ticket holders) up there and most are 20-game plans, so we're not talking about a large number of people who are affected.''
In other news, Javier Vasquez has requested a trade out of Arizona, according to ESPN News. Rotoworld has this to say;
Javier Vazquez has used his right to demand a trade, ESPNews is reporting.
This doesn't necessarily mean that he'll go anywhere. Vazquez would have to give up the $24 million he's due over the next two years in order to become a free agent on March 15, and at that late date, it seems unlikely that he'd command close to $12 million per year. The Diamondbacks will likely listen to offers, but there's a good chance they'll just end up keeping him.
And meanwhile, the Mets seem to be targeting the entire Tampa Bay Devil Ray's TEAM! According to selected articles, the Mets are after; Danny Baez, Aubrey Huff, Julio Lugo and Toby Hall. In addition, they are trying to get Adrian Gonzalez and Gerald Laird from Texas to make a deal with Tampa Bay. With Minaya so worked into a trade frenzy right now, maybe it is the right time to fleece in a 3-Way-Deal, because when this is all over, I doubt the Mets will have anything left to trade.
Meanwhile in the other New York, the Yankees are acquiring about every Centerfielder under the sun, from Juan Pierre, Aaron Rowand and Milton Bradley (a guy I think we should be going after).
Also, does seem that Bobby Abreu is on the block, and might be sent to Toronto for Vernon Wells. Does this mean that Kotsay could get a GG in CF if Hunter doesn't come back strong and Wells is traded? Should we be trying to get Abreu?
And Last but not Least, Ken Korach is back with the A's! Korach will be back with the A's as the lead play-by-play man!
