Wonderful news! Congrats Blez and Mrs. Blez!!

You know, the A's fan in me has been loving reading and re-reading the first installment of Blez's interview with Billy. It reminds me not only why I love this team, but why this site is such a greatly enjoyable place to be.

Still, be that as it may, I have to say the human being in me is even more thrilled to see this post here. Congratulations a million times over to Blez and Mrs. Blez. And welcome to the world (and the Nation) Maya Conchita. JRBH is right, it may take you some time to get over Erubielita, but somehow, I think you'll do just fine. Something also tells me that your dad will have no problems coming up with great bedtime stories for you ("In August of 2002, a group of heroes rose up to make history...")

On a side not blez, a word of advice, when young Maya's first boyfriend brings her home even a second late. Don't beat him to death with the Barry Zito game winning Homerun bat that Barry gave you after they won the title in 2005. Use the T-Long bat that some extended family gave you.

My first turns one next month. We took pictures in our A's uniforms and gave them as gifts for christmas. Having a kid is tons of fun... and a lot of work... but lots of fun! Congratulations again!

P.S. before you know it she will be grabbing at the computer keyboard messing up your AN post

Looking forward to a report that the little one is healthy and rarin' to go. Know she's already safe with Dad & Mom.

One of the troops at work became a father last Dec 30. He gets absolutely no sleep, baby has been (healthily) screaming her lungs out ever since, and he is absolutely over the moon and completely changed. He was a good soldier before and is even better now. You'll be the same.

Blez, come back to AN when you're free, but don't show your face until you've taken care of the day's important business.

It's always a beautiful day to welcome a new little one into the world. May you and your wife always have patience and character, for this little lady will be dependant upon you to protect her and to be the loving parents she needs. My wife and I currently have four foster kids. We also have two of our own. It's too easy to see what can go wrong when parents make the wrong choices. I'm not perfect and neither is the world we live in. We make do with what is given to us and what we believe are the right choices. It's a total balancing act.
