Mitchell Page Lands on His Feet

A few weeks ago we were discussing the fate of former A's outfielder Mitchell Page, the Hitting Rage.

Star-divide

He was the Cardinals' hitting coach for the last 3 seasons but was let go after the World Series.  Page was fired because of his alcoholism, and a number of us were concerned about his future.

I noticed in this morning's transactions listing in the newspaper that he's been hired by the Nationals as a "hitting coordinator," which I think means a roving hitting instructor.

Here is the story.  Good to see him catching on so fast with another team and dealing so responsibly with his alcoholism.

Page mentions his son
in the first article I linked in the diary.  The reporter says he's a good hitter.

I hope the Hittin' Rage
is doing what he needs to do to take care of himself. Bully to the Nationals for hiring him!

Page
Was one of the first players that I liked.  I am rooting for him to stay in recovery.
