Dan Patrick reporting Huddy Traded
He's reportedly close to being shipped to St. Louis, though I'm not sure who is involved. I've yet to find any Internet sources on this - just that Dan Patrick said on ESPN radio that it's "close."

if it's the equivalent of Giles for Huddy
and Giles is not enough. the a's would need starting pitching also.

When is Giles a free agent
I like the extra bat in the A's line up but I have to admit I kinda liked the deal Hudson for Polonco and Myers. OH well we will see what happens.

The A's would have Giles' rights

HUDDY'S PHYSICAL DURABILITY
He could be right. It will be interesting to see how long Huddy remains an ace. I could see helping STL win a championship then fading into mediocrity.
Also, could Huddy's ultimatum have been a move to spur a trade so he could get an extension set before he potentially injures himself again this year?

I believe I said . . .
It's right up there. You can see for yourself.
The reality is that every player is going to tail off as he gets older. Because Huddy weighs a buck-fifty, he has to push his body more than other pitchers. This could have led to his problems the past couple years and could cut his career short.

La Pinata
All the other La P's (Alameda, SL, Newark, Fremont) are awesome, food's good (but I don't know why they include burgers on the menu it's a MEXICAN place) and there a full tequila bar.
The Alameda one is clearly the best.

How much do you pay?
by grover on Dec 9, 2004 7:08 PM PST up reply actions 0 recs
It depends.
- The Fall Guy/Gal (Deluxe Package) - Basically, this plan is designed to make me look good (which is a really difficult job, hence having to pay). If I stick my foot in my mouth, it is this person's job to distract everyone else. For instance, I say something stupid, the Fall Guy/Gal and I exchange hand signals, and the Fall Guy/Gal, we'll call this person Ryan, blurts out predetermined phrases. A popular choice is, "I like brownies," and "I like to wear ladies underwear on my head while singing Prince songs." I leave it up to the Fall Guy/Gal, though. The pay is based on the responses given and how I feel after. We have a smiley face poster like hospitals to measure my emotional pain. Pay is determined accordingly.
- The basic package. This one is a simple plan to make me feel good. The "friend" and I shop together, go to the movies together, and play with paper dolls, for example. The "friend" is also required to send me various gifts for special occasions and phone calls are required daily. Again, the Emotional Pain Scale is used to determine pay.

I'm certainly qualified for the job

No cards
It now says no deal with the cards is imminent.

HEre it is...
It looks like the Orioles and maybe the Braves and Indians are still in the running. Rosenthal also mentions the Phillies, Dodgers, Red Sox, Mets and Yankees as other potential suitors for Hudson. No AL West teams are viewed as candidates because it's assumed the A's won't trade Hudson within the division.
