Scutaro in Winter Ball?

I'm just curious, isn't that not the smartest of decisions? He's just finished his first full major league season, and I'm just wondering if continuing to play ball over the winter'll tire him out even more.

I was wondering if any of you had more information to possibly explain why? Or is Scutaro just getting more ABs to try to improve and show he's capable of doing more? Because if it's the latter, I'm not sure that's the wisest of ways...

always plays winter ball and it does not seem to effect him in a bad way. it's a good way to get extra ab's.

Scutaro won the batting title in Venezuela last winter. He's probably a fan favorite and, like Miggy, just wants to "keep it real" and allow the fans in his native country to watch and appreciate him. At least he's not snubbing them, what with his newfound big league status.

Judging from his performance thus far, I wouldn't say he's putting too much effort into his winter ball stint. Just taking it easy and enjoying the chance to play ball in his hometown.
