It appears that Billy Beane would like to see Dan Meyer get some batters out in Sacramento before giving him a spot in the rotation...

"The A's are looking to add one more starting pitcher in order to allow Dan Meyer, the key to the Tim Hudson trade with Atlanta, to begin the season at Triple-A Sacramento, says the Oakland Tribune. Among the list of free-agent starters in the A's price range are Steve Sparks, Scott Schoeneweis, Ismael Valdez, Pedro Astacio, Darren Oliver and Shawn Estes."

Do any of these guys interest us?  Who else will take a 1-Year Deal for 2005?  We will probably add another starter in January to compete for a slot in the rotation, but none of those guys inspire me very much.

Any thoughts on who the A's should go after to fill the 5th Slot in the Rotation?
