Around SBN: Carmelo Anthony, Amar'e Stoudemire Vow To Fit In With Lin

This Does, Indeed, Suck

OK,all line-item stats aside, fellow A's fans, ask yourself a "big picture" question:

"Are we better off after this trade than we were before?"

Be honest.

Oh, by the way, how do you impeach an MLB owner?

OUT WITH SCHOTT!  (There's got to be some billionaire baseball fan out there looking to buy a team)

Big Picture

In the "big picture", i.e. beyond the starting rotation for 2005, yes we are better.

What about the "little picture" people here who wanted above all else a slightly larger chance to win in 2005 and the future of the club be damned?

Improvement in some areas
As my previous post indicates, losing Hudson tears me up.  But if I'm honest about things, I think the team will be better off in the bullpen and perhaps in the outfield.  Harden will pick up Hudson's pace (hopefully) and maybe Blanton will come to form.  Everyone wants to criticize the owners but they are just businessmen trying to make all the money they can.  That's what this country is all about now- money, money, money- that's why we elected the President we elected and that's why owners like the A's have will always keep the payroll at a certain level.

I half agree greenmachine....
this is nothing but business. Is the team better? Not now or for a while. Hudson was a leader on a team that desperately needs one. Beane didn't replace that. Look at the reaction of the other players and tell me that this team wasn't just scattered to the four winds.
